A Numerical Recipes Institution Subscription allows the free use of Numerical Recipes source code within your organization, without the need to keep track of "seats" or checking out licenses. Subscriptions are renewable yearly, or may be purchased at one time for multiple years. (Contact us if you would like a quote for a perpetual license.)

Whereas commercial use is not allowed under the Numerical Recipes Personal Single-User License, this Numerical Recipes Institutional Subscription does allow for commercial use. Under it, you may use Numerical Recipes code within your for-profit organization and/or create applications for sale or other commercial distribution, subject to our license terms.

Institutional subscriptions include the right to distribute Numerical Recipes code by any convenient means within your organization, subject to your taking reasonable precautions against access by persons outside of your licensed organization. Also included is free access to the Numerical Recipes electronic book.

The following table gives our standard price structure, based on the size of the licensing entity, or sub-unit of such entity if only that sub-unit is to be licensed. Examples of possible sub-units are: a division, a subsidiary corporation, a single academic department or school, or a geographically distinct facility (not a single building). Contact us in case of any ambiguity.

In the above table, "staff" is defined as follows:

• For-profit corporation: number of employees (FTEs)
• University or school: number of faculty plus staff (FTEs)
• Not-for-profit entity: number of paid employees

You may self-attest to your size category in the above table, or, if such involves proprietary data, we will estimate a category on your behalf from public sources.
